The world is a dazzling place full of things that have the ability to preoccupy us. But how often do things in the world seem to promise fulfillment and satisfaction only to leave us yearning for more? Christ begins His amazing sermon with a promise as well. His promise is a life of true fulfillment and real satisfaction. The catch is if we're looking in the world then we won't find it. Christ lifts our gaze upward and shows that a life committed and directed to Him is the only way we will find what we truly need. And yet, once we take hold of that higher purpose suddenly the world around us begins to take on a whole new fullness so that all in all He makes all things whole.
