After selecting His apostles and demonstrating His authority through signs and wonders, Christ takes His followers to a Galilean plain and begins to deliver what will come to be the greatest sermon ever preached. Great sermons are of course filled with delightful illustrations, thought-provoking segments, and piercing applications, and this sermon contains the finest examples of each. But a sermon is a unified whole as well, every point meant to reinforce the main point. Today we will crystallize the main point so that the forest is not lost for the trees in the upcoming weeks.
