This sermon explores the nature of temptation, drawing from Jesus’ confrontation with Satan in the wilderness. Temptation is defined not merely as a lure to sin but as an invitation to distrust God’s provision, timing, or will. It addresses the difficulties we face when temptation appears logical or desirable and the delusions that disguise it as harmless or even beneficial. Yet, through Christ’s example, we see that resistance comes through dependence on God’s Word, not on willpower alone, and through His victory, we see that the battle can and has been won. Believers are urged to take up spiritual defenses, anchoring themselves in Scripture and trusting God’s faithfulness in every trial.
