Jesus is led into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tested by Satan. So far Luke has shown prophets and angels testifying to Christ's position as the Promised Messiah. The Holy Spirit has anointed Him and the Father has declared it from Heaven, but now, in the badlands of Palestine, Christ Himself will get His turn to prove it.
