Who is Jesus Christ?

One of the most misunderstood and overlooked portions of Sacred Scripture are the genealogies; long lists of names upon names of who begat whom and so on. Generally, even the most fortunate of Bible readers will only occasionally find a name in one of these long list that they can associate with some meaning and significance. The least fortunate are scarcely aware of this genre of writing being present in God’s Word at all, years of encountering the lists and hastily flipping past taking their toll. But often the most beautiful gems can be found hidden in the most mundane earth. Today we stop and sift through a text that perhaps has not received its fair shake over the years and discover the treasures therein.
